The Datça-Bozburun Special Environmental Protection Area (SEPA), which is known for its rich marine fauna and flora, is one of the most important conservation areas in the Mediterranean due to its biodiversity, as well as its archaeological and cultural significance. As one of the 12 Special Environmental Protection Areas located along the coasts of the Aegean and Mediterranean regions of Turkey, the Datça-Bozburun SEPA covers a total area of 1443.9 km2, including 753.6 km2 of coastal and marine areas. It has a coastline stretching for 449 kilometers.
