Based on the International Standard Statistical Classification of Fishing Gear (ISSCFG) developed by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the publication has been translated into Turkish and systematically presents commercial, small-scale, and recreational fishing gears used in marine and inland waters.
Covering a wide range of fishing methods—from surrounding nets, trawls, and dredges to gillnets, traps, hook-and-line systems, and diving-based harvesting—the book explains the structure, operation, and technical characteristics of each gear type through detailed drawings.
