The management plan for the Gökova Special Environmental Protection Area (SEPA) is based on a shared management approach, and monitoring and conservation works for marine and coastal areas in accordance with the plan are underway. Additionally, sustainable financial mechanisms will be determined and realised for the implementation of the Gökova SEPA Management Plan.
The program is supported by the Association for the Sustainable Financing of Mediterranean MPAs (MedFund), which funds simultaneous programs for sustainable development in marine protection areas in Tunisia, Albania, Turkey (Gokova Bay), and it will run between 2020-2025.
